Located in Chariton, this concrete encased beam bridge crosses Albia Road (former US-34).
Built in 1912 the bridge consists of a single concrete encased beam span, set onto concrete substructures. It is approached by a concrete slab span on either side.
These types of bridges are commonly used for grade separation. This bridge is now abandoned.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in fair condition. The bridge superstructure has some deterioration.
